Miike Snow- Sans Soleil

Today's 'Tune of the Day' belongs to Miike Snow's 'Sans Soleil'. I haven't seen real sunshine in a few days so I thought it would suit the weather. Their debut album was one of my favourites in 2009 and the guys are now working on their new album so I'm pretty excited.
Let's pray for some sun, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy!

Pet Shark

Today I went to see the Travel Photographer of the Year Exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society. It was a good day as I got to see this picture taken by James Morgan. I am in love with this picture, the kid looks so happy with his pet shark and I can't help but smile everytime I see it. There were some other cool pictures there too but this one is my favourite! If you're about London town, you should try and see this exhibition, its running until June 10th.

Oddisee 'You Don't Close Your Eyes'

I remember when I went to see Little Brother at Jazz Cafe a couple of years ago and they said that they wanted to let someone come and say hello. That was the first time I saw or heard of Oddisee. My friend that I went with was shocked (and maybe a little disappointed) that I had never heard of him so he gave me a list of songs to go and listen to that night. Since then, Oddisee has been one of my favourite people in hip hop.

Oddisee has released 'You Don't Close Your Eyes' as a free download to coincide with the release of 'Odd Seasons'. The song is about the dynamics of a relationship turned cold. Clever wordplay and an effortless cadence propel this insightful tale of domestic apathy, which finds Oddisee questioning what changed in his relationship: "restaurant parking lots seem like the spot in the plot where you like to talk a lot, where it used to be the spot in the plot where the windows was steamed because the heat coming off was hot." Also along for the ride is frequent collaborator/keyboardist, Ralph Real, whose tenor adds an emotional intensity that helps accentuate the frustrations of unrequited love.

Stööki Launch Party

Greetings! I wanted to write yesterday but I was sooo tired. . The gallery tour didn't quite work out, I only made it to one haha but it was still cool I had a nice walk around London town. If you are about you should go and check out ''Eye of the Storm' by Hannah Westwood at Tenderpixel gallery.

After, I headed south of the river to Red Bull Studios where the launch of Stööki was taking place. Stööki is an independent brand based in Europe, crafting jewellery and t-shirts that combine two design elements into one. Presented with art installations that coincide with the theme of each piece. The Craftmakers are Luke, Nadia & Quincey and I had the pleasure of cutting Quincey's hair as part of the live show. They also had a tattooist and an artist doing body painting, pretty cool!!  I was pretty nervous so I thought I'd have a drink to calm me down, I had another as it seemed to be doing the trick. Then I got into the party mood so I had another, at this point I felt a little strange as the rum was chilling me out but I realised that it was Red Bull cola I was drinking. Durrrr! That had me feeling a little wired but I was feeling ready to do Q's hair and 'make my mark', the theme for the evening. Thankfully everything went well and it was a cool night. The collection, mostly hand made, looked really good too so go and place your orders as they are limited edition!

All in all, it was such a good way to end the week, I even got to hear one of my favourite Biggie tunes 'Going Back to Cali'.
